Retreats tend to be centred around a specific theme such as yoga, wellness, cooking or writing. All wonderful getaways, but what if you don’t want to work that hard? What if you just want to open the fridge, pour yourself a glass, and bask in the sun by the pool? What if you want a proper lie-in? What if you simply want to indulge and not feel guilty about it?
Rosé Retreats is exactly that.
The idea first came to me when I organised my best friend’s hen do. We planned a weekend at my mum’s house, filled with arts and crafts, an improvised mermaid photoshoot (don’t ask), lunch by the sea, and an afternoon at the spa, followed by homemade pizzas and a PowerPoint night. We all agreed that weekends like these, relaxed, joyful, slightly chaotic, are the best kind.
That’s when I started wondering: why do we need an excuse to do activities, or a special event to justify taking time for ourselves? Many retreats give us the opportunity to focus on a hobby, a craft, a sport, or our mental wellbeing. But there are far fewer retreats for women that simply allow us to enjoy with no pressure, no expectations. Just pleasure, rest and good company. I shared this idea with my mum, who runs a successful bed and breakfast, and it immediately felt obvious: why not create a retreat that reflects our idea of the perfect getaway?
Rosé Retreats is all about self-indulgence. No schedules to follow, no goals to achieve, just time to slow down and enjoy yourself. So let us give you a taste of what to expect at Rosé Retreats, our boutique women’s retreat in the South of France.
Rosé Retreats : our boutique women's retreat in the South of France
The location
For many people, the South of France immediately means Provence. And while Provence is undeniably beautiful, and absolutely worth visiting, we’re taking you somewhere a little more undiscovered and authentic, but just as special. Rosé Retreats will take place in Caux, a small medieval village just outside Pézenas, in the heart of the Languedoc.
Why the Languedoc? Firstly, because we live here and love it. And secondly, and call me biased, it is hands down one of the most underrated regions in France. Not only is it the largest wine region in the world (it really is), it is also home to breathtaking landscapes, deeply rooted cuisine, beautifully preserved historic villages, and a strong sense of culture, art and local identity. Plus, we have the med. It’s the perfect setting, with vineyards all around, mountains in the background, Mediterranean vegetation underfoot, and the sea just 20 minutes away.
For me, hosting a retreat in the Languedoc is particularly special because of my deep connection to its wine scene. You’ll regularly hear me say that this is a dynamic and exciting wine region, offering a beautiful diversity of wine styles, and it’s a real honour to be able to select and share them for the ladies who will attend our women's retreat in the South of France.
As I mentioned above, Rosé Retreats is located just outside the historic and lively town of Pézenas, a place I’m particularly fond of. Pézenas is closely linked to Molière, our French Shakespeare, who is known to have lived there and is said to have begun his career in the town. I love wandering through its cobbled streets, popping into independent shops, cafés and restaurants along the way. It’s a very artistic town, with galleries and pottery studios tucked into unexpected corners, and it’s also famous for its antique shops, there are so many of them that you can easily lose an afternoon browsing ! It was an obvious choice to include a day in Pézenas as part of the Rosé Retreats experience.
The venue
Our women’s retreat in the south of France will take place in a beautiful 19th-century French manor house, located in the medieval village of Caux. Yes, it’s right in the village itself, but don’t let that fool you. The house is set within extensive grounds, with generous outdoor spaces that quickly make you forget you’re anywhere near village life. The villa has six light and airy double bedrooms, each designed to feel calm and spacious. Most bedrooms share a bathroom with just one other room, and there’s a master suite with a private bathroom for those who want a little extra privacy.

Many retreat venues are tucked away in the middle of nowhere in the name of absolute peace and quiet, and we completely understand the appeal. But we also wanted our guests to have freedom. The freedom to wander, to explore, and to be independent, whether that means heading into the village for a coffee, strolling the streets alone, or sitting down with a new friend without needing to rely on us for every plan.

Peace and calm still matter to us just as much, and that’s where the manor truly shines. The grounds and spacious interiors offer plenty of room to slow down and breathe. You might find yourself lounging by the glorious pool, unwinding in the sauna, reading beneath a tree, or settling into a quiet corner of the villa’s library. There is also a dedicated workspace for those who wish to spend some time on personal or professional projects, should inspiration strike.
The Food
Now, let’s get to business. The food.
I truly believe that you can’t work in the wine industry and not care deeply about food. I love food. My mum loves food. It’s one of life’s simplest pleasures , and when it’s Mediterranean, it somehow tastes even better. We’re lucky to live in a region where fruit and vegetables thrive throughout the summer. Short supply chains and local farmers’ markets are a big part of everyday life here (as they are in many parts of France), and they make it easy to cook meals that are both delicious and nourishing, without trying too hard.

Rosé Retreats, food is a central part of the experience. We’ll be working with a local chef to curate a generous, seasonal Mediterranean menu for the week, the kind of food that’s meant to be shared, enjoyed slowly, and paired with good wine and even better conversation.
The wine & apéritifs
As I mentioned earlier, the Languedoc is an exciting and endlessly generous wine region, and I’ll be working closely with our chef to curate a beautiful wine selection for the week, rosés, whites and reds that truly capture the spirit of the region. Think of me as your private sommelier for the week (the unpretentious kind).
The fridge will always be well stocked, so you’re free to help yourself whenever the mood strikes, because why not? I’ll make sure there’s something for everyone. Fancy a glass at 11am? Be our guest. After all, this is Rosé Retreats.

I work closely with local domaines to select wines that tell a story and are just waiting to be enjoyed.
Evenings will feature apéritifs specially curated for you, small, relaxed moments to ease into the night, sip something a little special, and savour the perfect start to dinner.
The activities
Rosé Retreats is all about letting you choose what you feel like doing, while always knowing there’s something planned for you to experience and explore in the South of France. My mum and I have put together an array of excursions that blend discovery, authenticity, and a touch of luxury.

We’ll take you to the beautifully preserved, historic villages and towns of Pézenas and Olargues, enjoy a private spa afternoon in a château, try your hand at ceramic painting, savour wine tastings, and relax over lunch by the sea. All of these experiences are optional, but included in the price, so you can pick and choose your perfect retreat.
The friendships
Rosé Retreats is all about treating yourself, but it’s also about the friendships and connections, after all, we’ll be spending a whole week together! Going on a retreat can feel daunting, especially if you’re coming on your own, but women have a wonderful way of breaking barriers. The food, wine, and shared moments are all here to help.
You can come with a friend, your mum, sister, or any important woman in your life with whom you love to laugh, because that’s also what we’re about: the giggles. Nothing beats collapsing into a laughing fit with a good friend, and we all have that one person who comes to mind when reading this. That’s the beauty of womanhood, and we hope that whether you come alone or with someone special, you’ll leave with beautiful memories, a full heart, and perhaps even a few (many) new friendships.
